Be careful not to fall into the trap of believing that the dawn of a new year has the power to transform your life. It takes consistent effort ingrained in daily habits and a continuous upgrade of your mindset to enhance the way you look at yourself, others, circumstances and the world around you, in order to manifest the change you wish to create in your life.
As usual I’ve planned with God what I want to achieve and who I want to become in the next year and as always placing it in His hands. It’s so overwhelming (in a positive way) to have Maharaj’s presence, kirpa, love and forgiveness in my life, the most priceless gift from where all blessings flow in abundance. Guruji holds the key to my destiny and consistently opens doors that I never would be able to of my own accord. The only thing that truly matters or holds any value is our devotion to the One who gives us everything, the very support of our breath, life & soul and what we do to help others in this world.
We are fortunate enough to make it to this year, we didn’t get here by chance or our own doing, it’s pure kirpa and with a purpose. As we continue to embark on our worldly responsibilities and goals may we never lose sight that we are just travellers who will one day have to go back to our true home. It’s important to make our relationship with Guruji and the inner journey our number one priority. Day in day out, you have to work on this, despite the inevitable times of anxiety, worry, sorrow, sadness, confusion, stress and darkness. You have to be able to sit with your emotions with no resistance to them and allow it to teach you and heal what it needs to in order to drive your life forward.
On the journey of self-discovery, you don’t have to have things figured out or your questions answered to take the first step, just start walking. Your life will begin to transform when you experience the peace and bliss that is on offer in the process of getting to the core of who you are. The magical power that can get you to a place even beyond what your mind has the capacity to imagine, is through God, who is consistently true in the past, present and future.
This is what has allowed me to survive and thrive the past year, physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually and will be my protection going forward. We have had to create support bubbles, well that is nothing new. Maharaj has created an invisible one around us since the day we were born, has been looking after us ever since and will continue to until we have to leave this world in our physical form and beyond.
The pandemic is within hukam, we can’t escape the ups and downs of life, but we have a choice as to whether we are going to ride the waves or drown within them. Through pain and happiness, life is always unfolding exactly how it is meant to in order to guide you towards and fulfil your purpose. True peace comes from knowing God is in control. If you haven’t
already, step onto the boat of Guru Nanak, no one knows the storms ahead but it will be our ultimate support to get through them and reach a place of safety. ⠀
